ALA.NI has been teasing us with her new album for the past year by releasing various EP’s (Spring, Autumn). We have been impatiently waiting for this moment and the expectations are high !
She not only has a sublime voice, having accompanied artists like Blur, Mary J. Blige, Andrea Boccelli…, she is also a wonderful writer and composer. You & I is an album that contains 12 tender and elegant songs which will appeal to jazz and folk lovers alike
After a giant promo tour in France, her label No Format (Gonzales, Blick Bassy, Melissa Lavaux…) sent her to Belgium together with her guitarist in order to continue their marathon. And we were there that morning to receive her.
Hidden in the shadows of the mosque of the Cinquantenaire Park is the timeless Pavillion of Human Passions which offered exceptional acoustics to Alani’s voice. Despite a loud demonstration by mad agricultural workers in the Cinquantenaire park, the English Ala.ni offered us a unique performance.
